4 Things We Love About Memphis

It’s 9.01 Day in the 901, and the whole city is celebrating! Memphis is such an incredible place to live, work, and play—and we wanted to share a few of our favorite things about this city that makes it so special to us. It's small business central

Buy a candle from Falling Into Place, learn a new paint trick from Me and Mrs. Jones, wander through Maggie’s Pharm, grab a gift for you or a friend from Mrs. Post Stationery, or treat yourself to a new outfit from Shelby Jewel! There are so many unique small businesses everywhere you go in Memphis. We love being able to support our community and all its passions. Art is everywhere

Midtown is home to some of the most beautiful art pieces in Memphis! Overton Square has quite a few notable murals that breathe life into the walls and buildings around us (perfect for selfies and photoshoots). On top of that, there are also some cool art installations on every corner of the square—from the small garden facing the courtyard to the lock of love in the alley between Breakaway and Golden India. We also love spotting the tigers decorated across the city! Local Restaurants

Where to begin?! From getting our start popping up in City & State, growing up enjoying sno cones from Jerry's, date nights at Mantra, picking up groceries from the many local Middle Eastern grocers (La Fiesta, Jerusalem Market, Al-Rahmah, Barakat), a calzone from Little Italy, or ice cream from Sugar Ghost - we are spoiled with good eats!

Parks Galore!

Memphis is surrounded by lush greenery and wonderful parks throughout the city and into the suburbs! Overton Park is the perfect place to let kids roam free, visit the Memphis Zoo, listen to music, or explore the Brooks Museum. We can't forget Shelby Farms Park and all that it has to offer. Did you know that it's 5 times the size of Central Park and one of the largest in the world?! From boating and biking to ziplines and obstacle courses, it’s no wonder why the Park is treasured by so many Memphians. Another hidden treasure is Cameron Brown Park in Germantown, a great spot to take kids to play under the shade. We’ve made so many core childhood memories at Cameron Brown growing up, and it’s heartwarming to now bring our kids there to make new memories they can cherish as much as we do. Memphis is a magical place, and we’re so grateful to call this city home. We hope you have a wonderful 901 Day celebration! Come see us tonight at Overton Square’s 901 Day Market from 6-9pm. Stop in, grab a drink and a snack, and enjoy live performances from Raneem + Better in Color!
